In June 2008, after six successful
years, ISC was forced to move from its beautiful
south-east country location to the west end of
Edmonton. The resulting drop in enrollment forced
the school to close in February 2009. In December
2009, Staff Members Nicolette Groeneveld and Mark
Ogle restarted ISC
as a Sudbury home schooling group.
The search continues for a suitable, permanent
location and the funding required to redevelop ISC
as a full-fledged Sudbury Campus.

At ISC we have
many corporations like the Art Corporation, the Computer
Corporation, the Kitchen Corporation etc. • A Corporation is formed
when a group of students has a common interest and
wishes to get and use particular equipment and/or
designate a room for a certain purpose.
• Students create Corporation guidelines and
determine certification procedures.
• Students present their Corporation to Campus
Meeting and ask to have it approved.
• Once approved, Corporation members vote on
a Director who is responsible for certifying the students
who wish to use the Corporation’s room and equipment.
Benefits to students: • development of
a sense of ownership
• responsibility for self, and supervision of
others
• care, maintenance and proper use of equipment
• instruction on proper use of equipment
• discernment
• development of leadership skills
Key Concepts At ISC, there are eight key aspects to the
day-to-day operation of the school. Each aspect offers
students a wide variety of benefits and learning experiences.
